Mike Casey BSc (Hons), CHEK Exercise Coach, CMTA1

Mike is an exceptional personal trainer.   He has a sports science degree, is a CHEK Exercise Coach and has experience training a diverse range of clients at Take Shape and previously in London and Cheltenham.  These qualifications and experience give him a comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting health and wellbeing, allowing him to offer a truly holistic approach to his clients enabling them to reach far beyond their initial goals.

Mike specialises in nutrition, weight loss, posture, back care and sports conditioning.  He has worked with golfers, tennis players, triathletes and rugby players as well as those who simply want to improve their health and wellbeing.  Mike also regularly presents on posture & back care, weight management and sports conditioning.

Mike graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a BSc. (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences (2:1). Further study with Premier training in movement-based anatomy, posture and corrective exercise, and the Weight Management Centre gave him the tools to really make a difference in his clients’ lives. From here, Mike went on to study with some of the best trainers and health practitioners in the world at the C.H.E.K. Institute, where he completed courses in Scientific Core Conditioning, Scientific Back Training and Programme Design before achieving the C.H.E.K. Exercise Coach certification. Subsequently, Mike completed courses in Dynamic Medicine Ball Training, Swiss Ball Training and Advanced Swiss Ball Training for Rehabilitation. He is also a Level I Metabolic Typing Advisor, which gives him the tools to understand the unique biochemical needs of each individual and therefore provide tailored coaching in nutrition and lifestyle factors. Mike is first-aid trained, fully insured and an advanced level 3 member of the Register of Exercise Professionals.  He is also a very keen rugby player and golfer. As a golfer he was an under-18 county champion at 15 and junior captain at 16.
